Behind Wildborne

I’m Will Hall, a filmmaker, photographer and presenter based in Scotland. Through Wildborne Productions, I create films and photographs that bring people closer to nature, conservation and adventure.

My interest in wildlife storytelling started with a camcorder and some swans. Both my parents came from a media background, and when I was about seven, my dad gave me my first camera. I took it down to the river and began making my own very amateur nature documentaries.

That fascination continued into a degree in Animal Biology and Conservation at Oxford Brookes University, which I completed while working and competing in rowing at national and international levels. Balancing those commitments taught me a lot about preparation, persistence and working towards a goal—qualities that still shape how I approach a production.

During the daily walks of lockdown, I picked up a stills camera and began developing my photography. Later, moving to Scotland and guiding wildlife trips gave me the opportunity to document the animals, landscapes and experiences around me. Photography grew into filmmaking, presenting and production, and a lifelong passion became a career.

At home in wild places

I thrive in challenging environments. From jungles and mountains to high altitudes, wet coastlines and long days carrying camera equipment, I enjoy the practical demands of bringing a story back from the field.

As a qualified Mountain Leader, drone pilot and action filmmaker, I bring outdoor experience alongside my camera skills. Working in these places calls for preparation, adaptability and respect for the environment, as well as an eye for the shot.

My background in biology and conservation helps me understand the subjects I’m filming and communicate their stories with care.

What I bring to your project

I offer filmmaking, photography, presenting and editing for conservation organisations, charities, outdoor brands and businesses.

My work has included projects with the BBC, BBC Alba, ITV, the RSPB, Global Action, the New Zealand Department of Conservation and Wild Things. These experiences have taken me across broadcasting, conservation and outdoor education, working with people who care deeply about what they do.

I’m particularly drawn to stories about nature, adventure and education, especially projects that help young people connect with wildlife and conservation. I enjoy working with brands and organisations that bring enthusiasm, a clear purpose and a willingness to try something new.

Whether I’m behind the camera or presenting a story on screen, my aim is to make work that feels engaging, approachable and rooted in an understanding of its subject.

Let’s make something wild

Have a conservation story to tell, an adventure to capture or a project that deserves a wider audience? I’d love to hear about it.
